About Rigorous

Rigorous Technology is a fast-growing robotics company with a mission to automate non-creative tasks, helping manufacturers streamline operations and improve efficiency. We design, prototype, build, and install industrial robotic systems that support small to medium-sized manufacturers across the U.S. Our proprietary RGS software library enables advanced manipulation and control, continually pushing the boundaries of automation.

As a startup experiencing rapid growth, we have doubled revenue year over year while developing the foundation of our core products and technologies. Every new hire at Rigorous plays a critical role in shaping our future, and we are actively expanding into remote diagnostics, maintenance, and service programs to make cutting-edge robotics accessible to all manufacturers.

We are looking for driven, high-performing individuals who thrive in a fast-moving environment and are motivated by solving real problems. In this role, you will help grow revenue, shape our sales process, and build lasting relationships with customers. If you’re skilled in brand management and lead generation, motivated by real results, and ready to make an impact at a growing company, we’d love to hear from you.

Director of Marketing
Reports to: COO

Design and execute a rigorous marketing function for a fast-growing robotics company. You’ll split time between strategy and hands-on execution, delivering immediate pipeline while building for scale.

You own performance: qualified lead generation, acquisition costs, conversion rates, and pipeline velocity. You’re the marketing expert who collaborates with leadership on market direction while executing campaigns that work. You build the roadmap and the team to compound value over time.

Why Now:
This year marks an inflection point: after 6 years of robotic deployments, we’re productizing, launching, and scaling our software platform as a standalone product. We need the right marketing partner to take the company to accelerate product growth while bringing novel technologies to market.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and own GTM strategy for robot product sales and platform launch
  • Establish process for rapidly demand-testing new and existing products
  • Define market, target customer segments, buyer personas, and competitive positioning.
  • Allocate marketing budget across channels based on performance data
  • Report regularly on progress toward goals; own CRM marketing functions and reporting
  • Make data-driven decisions on what to scale, optimize, or kill

Execute Campaigns & Content

  • Write high-impact content: case studies, positioning docs, sales collateral
  • Design and launch multi-channel campaigns (content, SEO, paid ads, ABM, events)
  • Optimize website for lead capture and conversion
  • Create sales enablement materials (pitch decks, competitive intelligence, demos)

Lead Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Manage and develop Marketing team members: set priorities, review work, provide coaching. You will spend the first six months building the strategy and demonstrating successful execution. You will then build your team to execute the broader strategy.
  • Partner with Sales to ensure smooth lead handoff and feedback loop
  • Work with Founders on messaging, customer insights, and strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with Product/Engineering on platform launch and understanding products and capabilities.
  • Build scalable marketing processes and documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and writing skills with ability to translate technical concepts into marketing messaging for target audiences.
  • 7-10+ years B2B marketing.
  • Ideal candidates have 3+ years in robotics, IoT, automation, manufacturing, or hardware startups.
  • Demonstrated success building a 0→1 marketing flywheel.
  • Proven expertise in digital marketing execution, including SEO, paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager), retargeting campaigns, and end-to-end marketing funnel development.
  • Understanding and application of design principles, style guides, and brand ownership.
  • Proven pipeline generation and nurture execution for long sales cycles (6+ months).
